Kolkata: Dev Entertainment Ventures, has revealed the teaser of their much-awaited Durga Puja release, ‘Bagha Jatin’ at Raasmanch, Swabhumi here.
Dev along with Sudipta Chakraborty, debutante, Sreeja Dutta, Director, Arun Roy and the other cast and crew members of the movie were present for the Teaser launch.
The film, Bagha Jatin is inspired from the life and journey of Jatindranath Mukherjee, one of the significant figures in the History of India’s struggle for independence. The movie will narrate the extraordinary tale of Jatindranath’s fearless spirit, unwavering determination and unconditional love for his motherland.
Jatindranath Mukherjee later came to be known as Bagha Jatin because he fought with a tiger with his bare hands.
“Jatindranath Mukherjee is undoubtedly an inspiration for all. He is still alive in the heart of every Indian youth for his bravery and sacrifice. Bagha Jatin is our Durga Puja bonanza for the audience. The movie is going to revive on screen the thrilling journey of this hero and the story has been narrated on a huge canvas in a unique way. It was indeed a daunting task for me to finely portray every shade of this particular character on the big screen. I hope the cine goers are going to enjoy the film. Moreover, the decision to present this inspiring story in Hindi will also open doors for millions of viewers across the nation to witness the story of Bagha Jatin,” said Dev, who will be seen playing the role of Bagha Jatin in the movie.
“The story captures the essence of the particular period of India’s struggle for its Freedom and Empowerment. Dev in the author backed role, along with the actors did absolute justice to their respective on screen characters. The movie aims to entertain as well as highlight the rich culture and history of our country. We hope to receive appreciation and strong support from the audience,” said Arun Roy, the Director of Bagha Jatin.
Arun Roy and Sounava Bose have written the script and the dialogues. Gopi Bhagat is the DOP and Nilayan Chatterjee has composed the music and background score for the film.
Bagha Jatin is going to hit the multiplexes and single screens across India this Durga Puja on October 19.
