Amit Shah unveils Ram Mandir Temple-themed Durga Puja Pandal in Kolkata

Kolkata: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday unveiled a Ram Mandir-themed community Puja Pandal at Santosh Mitra Square in the central part of this city and said
Bengal is the forerunner to spread the message across India that Ram Mandir Temple will be inaugurated in Ayodhya in January.

Before unveiling the Goddess Durga image and her entourage Lord Ganesha, Lord Kartick, Goddesses Laxmi and Saraswati, Shah in his brief address said he would not talk politics this time as he would come later for paribartan ( change of government) for betterment of the people of Bengal.

He said Bengal is the forerunner to spread message across India for its Ram Mandir temple-themed Durga pandal as the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will be unveiled in January (2023).

The Durga Pratima was unveiled by Shah with a remote control device amid chanting of Jai Shree Ram from the assembled people at the site.

Shah also offered flowers at the altar of the Goddesses and with a Panchca Pradip.

West Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar, Suvendu Adhikari, union minister Nitish Pramanik amogh others were present at the celebration.

Shah said he has come from Gujarat after being in Chhattisgarh to have a blessing from Goddess Durga, which is the biggest festival of Bengal.

The community puja at the Santosh Mitra Square Puja Committee is one of the most attractive venues in this metropolis for the festival revellers for many decades for its unique theme.

BJP MLA Sajal Ghosh is one of the chief patrons of the Santosh Mitra Square Samity community puja.
