Assam CM distributes NDC to 22,172 beneficiaries in Dibrugarh district

Guwahati: A financial assistance of Rs 10,000 will be given to all the members of the woman self-help groups of Assam to self-reliant in coming days, Assam Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Monday distributed “No Dues Certificate” (NDC) to Dibrugarh district’s 22,172 beneficiaries of Category – III Assam Microfinance Incentive & Relief Scheme (AMFIRS) 2021 in Dibrugarh.

On Monday 2.22 lakh borrowers in Assam received a “No Dues Certificate” from lenders, Borrowers having NPA with outstanding principal amounts up to 25,000, whose accounts have become NPA as of 31 March 2021.

He said that the Assam Government would provide more financial assistance to the poorer women of rural Assam in future.

Sarma said about the Objective of the scheme that the scheme gave relief to eligible borrowers who had availed small loans from different microfinance lending institutions and banks in Assam.

Chief minister said that Under the scheme more than 9 lakh borrowers have already received incentives.

Assam government will provide more Finance incentives to borrowers in Assam, borrowers having NPA with outstanding principal amounts up to 50,000, whose accounts have become NPA as of 31 March 2021, he mentioned.

Union minister Rameshar Teli, Assam cabinet minister Bimal Bora, and MLA Prasanta Phukan attended the occasion.
