Pune: Deputy Chairperson of Maharashtra Legislative Council, Dr Neelam Gorhe, inaugurated Global India Business Forum, organised by Africa Business Council, at Shikrapur here.
Similarly, a two-day conference at Joshi Farm House here was organised by Global India Business Forum president Jitendra Joshi on Friday.
The High Commissioners of Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, Mauritius, Rwanda, Gambia, Gabon, South Sudan, Angola, Congo, Niger, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Lesotho, Ethiopia, Djibouti, who attended the conference, were given turbans by Dr Gorhe, who felicitated them.
Dr Gorhe credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for including African countries in G20, because of his interest and respect for those countries.
She praised late Nelson Mandela, first democratically elected president of South Africa, for devoting his life to preserve human values in Africa.
Maharashtra has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with many African countries regarding establishment of industries, she added.
