India records 7,219 new Covid cases

New Delhi: India recorded 7,219 new Covid-19 cases, taking the total tally of active caseload to 56,745 as per the Health Ministry data on Saturday

As many as 25 fresh fatalities were also recorded, taking the total toll to 5,27,965.

Meanwhile, 9,651 recoveries were reported, increasing the total recoveries to 4,38,65,016 whereas the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.68 percent.

According to the bulletin, 88.68 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 3,64,886 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 213.01 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine (94.31 crore second dose and 16.38 crore precaution dose ), so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” the Ministry data said.
