JSW Steel’s Aug yoy crude steel production up 22 pc

Mumbai: JSW steel on Monday reported year-on-year growth of 22 per cent in standalone crude steel production for the month of August 2022, a statement from the company said.

The company’s crude steel production in August 2022 was 16.76 lakh tonnes as against 13.77 lakh tonnes in the same month previous year.

Production of rolled products- flat- in August 2022 was 12.1 lakh tonnes as against 8.99 lakh tonnes in 2021, registering a growth of 34 percent while production of rolled products- long in August 2022 was 3.75 lakh tonnes as against 3.01 lakh tonnes in 2021, registering a growth of 25 percent.

The average capacity utilisation was 87.4 percent during August 2022 due to shortage of iron ore in Karnataka and Odisha regions, the statement said.
