Chandigarh: Haryana Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Anil Vij on Tuesday strongly criticised the remarks of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge who said that ‘taking a dip in the Ganga will not remove poverty’.

He stated that “Kharge mocked BJP leaders for taking a dip at the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh

and in doing so, he has insulted the entire Hindu community. The Congress President should hold his ears and apologize to all Hindus.”

The Minister further said that “Kharge mocked BJP leaders for taking a dip at the Mahakumbh. Our society allows everyone to perform rituals in their own way. Some pray facing the east, while others pray facing the south. Some meditate in stillness, while others pray through movement. Everyone has their own faith.”

Vij added that “those who do not understand religion should not comment on it. The leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha has insulted the entire Hindu community, and for this, he should apologize to all Hindus by holding his ears.”

Referring to AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal’s statement that Haryana government is poisoning Yamuna river water, he strongly criticized him, saying that “the former Chief Minister is spreading poison in this country with his false promises.

For the last 10 years, you (Kejriwal) have ruled Delhi, yet you could not clean the ‘Yamuna’ and continue to blame others. We will not clean Delhi’s filth; that is Kejriwal’s responsibility. The former CM is trying to shift the blame to others for his failures.”
