Maratha reservation agitation turns violent in Marathwada region

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The agitation going on across the state, particularly in the Marathwada region, for the Maratha Reservation has turned violent in many places.

So in this background, curfew has been imposed in Beed and Dharashiv districts.

Meanwhile, in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, the agitation for the Maratha reservation is also getting aggressive.

In this background, it has been decided to close the Smart City bus service in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city on Tuesday, sources said.

Along with this, a warning has been given to disrupt Dheeraj Krishna Shastri Bageshwar Dham Baba’s three-day program organised by Union Minister of State for Finance, Dr Bhagwat Karad, scheduled to start on November 6.

In the wake of the Maratha reservation agitation, the Municipal Corporation has decided to close the Smart City bus service in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city on Tuesday.

However, no decision has been taken regarding schools and colleges.

However, a warning has been given on behalf of Maratha Kranti Morcha to disrupt Bageshwar Baba’s program organised by Dr Karad.

The Maratha Kranti Morcha has warned that the political program organised in the name of religion should be wrapped up immediately; efforts should be made to resolve the issue of reservation first; otherwise, the program will be disrupted with guerilla poetry.

The protesters also tore down some posters of the Bageshwar Darbar program put up in the city. Also, photos of ministers on many posters have been blackened in many places.

Notably, protestors held a dharna in front of MP Imtiaz Jaleel’s residence here on Monday and demanded his resignation over the issue of reservations.

Also, protestors torched the office of the Gangapur BJP MLA at Gangapur.

Reports stated that several buses of the state transport corporation were set ablaze in many places by protestors.

As precautionary measures, many bus services have been stopped by the transport corporation in the region under the direction of the police and district administration.

A report from Mumbai stated that the state cabinet is likely to take a major decision, like issuing an order in relation to the Maratha reservation quota.

Meanwhile, Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil ‘s health who was on a hunger strike for the demand of a reservation, is detoratating.
