Srinagar: At least six residential houses and a multi-storeyed shopping complex were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at Hazratbal causing damage to the property worth Crores on Monday, officials said.
Fire and Emergency Service officials said a massive fire broke out at around 11.58 am in one of the rooms of a U-shaped shopping complex and engulfed other compartments, housing several food outlets and residential houses at Hazratbal in Srinagar causing extensive damage to the property.
More than a dozen fire tenders were rushed from the nearby fire stations of Hazratbal, Nowshera, Rainawari, Babademb and Shalimar to control the fire, they said.
“The fire is under control at present”, the Fire and Emergency Service officials said and added that the cause of fire is being ascertained.
More details are awaited, they added.
