Hyderabad: President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Hyderabad on Saturday for a one-day visit and was greeted with a warm welcome.
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Seethakka were among those who received the President at Begumpet Airport.
Soon after her arrival, President Murmu proceeded to participate in the 21st Annual Convocation ceremony of NALSAR University of Law, Shamirpet , Medchal Malkajgiri district.
Later in the day, the President will also inaugurate the Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav 2024 at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Secunderabad. The eight-day-long festival will showcase northeastern states’ art, culture, crafts, and culinary diversity, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
The police have made elaborate security arrangements and imposed traffic restrictions in view of the president’s visit.
