Priyanka’s battle in Kerala to boost prospects of Cong in 2026 Assembly Polls

Wayanad (Kerala): AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will make her electoral debut from Wayanad, and her electoral battle in Kerala may boost the Congress party’s chances in the 2026 Assembly polls in the state, party sources said here on Wednesday.

“Wayanad will make a way for Priyanka Gandhi to enter Parliament for the for the first time as a Lok Sabha member. She will win the seat with a huge margin,” sources said.

Soon after the announcement of Priyanka Gandhi’s candidature for the Lok Sabha bypoll in Wayanad, Congress workers began the poll campaign by putting up posters of her featuring the greeting ‘Wayanadinte Priyankari’ (Wayanad’s beloved).

The bypoll on November 13 was necessitated after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who contested and won two seats in the previous Lok Sabha polls, decided to retain Rae Bareli seat and vacate the Wayanad seat for his sister.

With her victory, three Gandhi family members—Sonia (Rajyasabha), Rahul, and Priyanka—will be in Parliament together this time.
