A nefarious nexus is at play in the state of Punjab, which fools young Sikh girls in the name of providing them visas to gulf countries. While the girls are promised visas for a long period of time, the same get expired earlier and once that happens, a heavy fine is imposed on the girls, after which the victims are forced into prostitution and to get converted into Islam. One such case has now come to light, concerning a young Sikh girl from the Ratta Khera village of Punjab, who could luckily escape from Oman, with the help of the village Sarpanch, Rajdeep Sandhu, and his contact in the Indian embassy at Oman.

The victim, Amritpal Kaur, was promised a 2-year work visa to Oman by a Hyderabad-based agent, but was sent to the foreign country on a 1-month tourist visa. Trapped with her captors, Kaur contacted the Sarpanch of her village, Rajdeep Sandhu, seeking help to escape, and told him that her captors were planning to sell her off. Following this, Sandhu started planning Amritpal Kaur’s escape from Oman.

2-year work visa for Amritpal Kaur, as promised by the Hyderabad agent

In order to seek help, Sandhu contacted the Indian embassy at Oman, the Ministry of External Affairs, India, Punjab police, and every other person he believed could help him in this mission to rescue Kaur. In the meanwhile, he kept motivating Kaur to be strong. Luckily, Kaur was able to run away from the home in which she was trapped, with the help of a relative in Oman. He then arranged the flight ticket for Kaur to return to India, and the funds for the same were arranged by Sandhu and his accomplices from India.

The tourist visa given to Amritpal

Earlier, it had been planned for Amritpal Kaur to run to the Indian embassy at Oman, but she could not reach there as after running from the house of her captors, she could not find a taxi to for an hour, and by the time she found one, she was late to reach the embassy, hence, the plan was changed and she changed her clothes, her ticket was arranged, and she moved to the airport without further ado.

Her flight was scheduled to depart 6 hours from the time she reached the airport, and in the meanwhile, the Hyderabad agent who had sent her to Oman started calling and messaging her to threaten her, after he got to know that she had escaped. He warned her that she would be caught soon. Afraid, Kaur kept herself in hiding in the airport itself, covering her face, till the time she boarded her flight, and after a 5-hour flight, she landed in India where the sarpanch of her village, Rajdeep Sandhu, received her.

It is now important to make sure that this incident is known all across the country, and not only in the state of Punjab, as even though Amritpal Kaur is lucky to have returned to her motherland, there are many more such girls who are stuck in countries like Oman, wherein their captors are planning to sell them off to sheikhs as prostitutes, and converted to Islam, such girls are at a threat to spend the rest of their lives as sex slaves.
