New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday granted bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on his petition challenging his arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Delhi liquor policy case.

The conditional bail bars Kejriwal from attending office or signing official files but paves the way for him to campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana Assembly elections.

A bench comprising Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, however, upheld his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and CBI, saying that the appellant’s arrest did not suffer from illegality.

The bench had reserved its judgment on September 5.
