Srinagar-Jammu, SSG, Mughal road closed due to snowfall in Kashmir

Srinagar: Srinagar-Jammu National highway, Srinagar-Leh and Mughal road have been closed for vehicular traffic due to fresh snowfall and shooting of stones on Monday.

Srinagar-Jammu National highway has been closed for vehicular traffic following intermittent shooting of stones caused at Panthyal on the highway due to rainfall this morning, a traffic police official said.

Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road connecting Kashmir valley with Ladakh Union Territory was also closed for vehicular traffic due to fresh snowfall caused at Sonamarg, Gumri, Captain More and Zojila pass on the highway on Monday, the official said and added It was still snowing in these areas.

Traditional Mughal road connecting Shopian district in south Kashmir with Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu region closed for vehicular traffic following a fresh snowfall at Peer Ki Gali on Monday.

Bandipora-Gurez and Machil-Kupwara roads in north Kashmir were also closed for vehicular traffic due to accumulation of more than a foot of snowfall on Monday.
