Mumbai: India’s benchmark indices down over 3 per cent at 1130 hours as panic selling was seen across sharesamid weak global cues as BSE Sensex trading at 78527 down 2450 points while the Nifty 50 was down 750 points or 3.04 per cent.
Nifty and Sensex opened lower today extending losses for the second session in a row amid weak global cues and US recession fears.
The Sensex opened down 1.57 percent at 79,707.96 and Nifty was down 378.00 points or 1.53 percent at 24,339.70.
In the Nifty 50 46 shares were in the red and only four HUL, Nestle, Britani and Tata Consumers bucked the trend.
