Kolkata: As three members of a family were killed in an explosion in a house stacked with illegal firecrackers at Budge Budge in South 24 Parganas last night, West Bengal Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari took a jibe at the Mamata Banerjee Government.

The explosion happened last night in Chingripota village of Budge Budge’s Nandrampur close on the heels of the gruesome explosion at an illegal cracker factory at Egra in East Midnapore district in which eleven people were killed and several injured.

All the three family members of the house, where illegal firecrackers were stacked, were critically injured and rushed to Budge Budge ESI hospital, where they were declared brought dead.

Adhikari tweeted, “Russia began their invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. I think if one calculates & compares the number of explosions that have taken place on Ukrainian soil until now, the number would be fewer than the explosions that took place in West Bengal during this timeframe. ”

” The smell of burning flesh & explosive residue is still hovering in Khadikul Village of Egra & victims are still extremely critical when another explosion happens at Nandarampur Daspara Village under Budge Budge Police Station area in South 24 Parganas district, ” he stated.

The BJP MLA from Nandigram further said, ” As of now 3 persons, all of them women (most probably) were charred to death, with the number of casualties most likely to go up. I might be sounding repetitive, but this too is a fit case for @NIA_India investigation. ”

” When will @MamataOfficial

wake up & smell the burnt flesh of charred bodies? How many more deaths would shake her conscience? ” Adhikari asked.

” As usual Mamata Police is doing what they do best. Tampering with evidence at night with fewer prying eyes, ” he alleged.
