People of Goa are lucky, blessed and unique. Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai – speaking on the occasion of 35th Statehood Celebrations Day – was full of praise for communal harmony in Goa. Goa is known for its syncretic culture across the globe. Today is a unique day in the history of Goa as the famous syncretic culture of Goa was on full display for the entire world to see.

Today people of Goa celebrated Tulsi Vivah and prayed for the good health, prosperity and happiness. The season of wedding in India begins with Tulsi Vivah and Devutthana Ekadashi The occasion of Tulsi Vivah is considered to be auspicious. The devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi today.

Another important event took place in Goa today. Sri Ram Yath Yatra wound its way through Goa stopping at important cities amidst chants of Jai Shri Ram, Bharat Mata Ki Jai, and Vande Mataram.

The leading lights of ruling elite including CM Dr Pramod Sawant, Goa BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, health minister Vishwajit Rane, transport minister Mauvin Godinho, Poriem MLA Dr Deviya Rane, Mapusa MLA Joshua Peter D’Souza and so on welcomed Sri Ram Rath Yatra to Goa and performed Pooja even as Jai Shri Ram fever gripped the devotees under an ocean blue sky of Goa. The entire devotional atmosphere  created a buzz in the air as if the Lord Shri Ram – fondly called Maryada Purushottam – Himself were visiting Goa.

The grand Ram Mandir at Ayodhya. Shri Ram Yath Yatra on an all Indian and Nepal tour before reaching Ayodhya. Tulsi Vivah.

Even as these high-octane events with devotees immersing themselves into prayers were taking place across Goa with full fervour, the announcement from His Holiness Archbishop of Goa Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao was an icing on the cake. It stated that the XVIII exposition of the sacred relics of St Francis Xavier will take place from November 21, 2024 to January 05, 2025. The announcement assumes importance since devotees from far flung cities and countries can make their respective travel arrangements in advance.

BJP-ruled Goa under the stewardship of CM Dr Pramod Sawant is on the way to becoming one of the most loved and progressive states of India. As aptly described by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Goa is so beautiful that it looks like a Bindi (dot) on the forehead of Bharat Mata. Viva Goa.
