On the very first day of the new year, two terrorists opened fire in the homes of Hindus in the Dangri village of Jammu’s Rajouri district. 3 people lost their lives and 7 have been injured. The incident took place at 7.30 PM. The Jammu-Kashmir police have stated that the three houses in which the firing took place, are 50 metres away from each other. As per eyewitnesses, all the three houses are near a temple and a government school. The terrorists reached the spot in a car, and ran away after the killings.

The administration has informed that those who lost their lives were Satish (45), Deepak (23), and Pritam Lal (56). On the other hand, the injured are being treated at the government medical college in Rajouri. There is an apprehension of the number of the dead increasing. Two women were also injured because of the attack, Saroj Bala (35), and Urshi Sharma (17).

On the other hand, two other terrorist attacks took place in Kashmir on Sunday, whose responsibility has been taken by the Resistant Front, which is associated with the Lashkar-e-Taiba. The terrorists threw a grenade, targeting a CRPF bunker at Srinagar’s Kamil Chowk. The grenade blasted on the road, and a local, Sameer Ahmed got injured. And in northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district, a grenade attack took place late in the evening.

The fourth attack on Sunday took place in Pulwama, where a youth ran away after snatching an AK-47 rifle from the CRPF post. ADGP Vijay Kumar stated that the rifle was recovered, and the one who snatched the rifle is Irfan.
