The Western Ghats Lit Fest by The Verandah Club, a premier literary event in South India, is back with the third edition on October 19th and 20th, 2024.  Building on the success of its previous editions, the Western Ghats Lit Fest 2024 promises an immersive experience with a global perspective and a diverse range of speakers. The literary event has been well curated by Shefali Vaidya, Director of The Verandah Club.

Launched in 2022 amidst the uncertainties after the COVID-19 pandemic, the first edition featured 16 speakers and laid the foundation for a vibrant literary platform to follow.  The festival quickly gained momentum, with the 2023 edition expanding to include 24 speakers over a two-day period. This second edition attracted over a thousand attendees in Coimbatore, and witnessed the launch of 13 books.

Notably, Verandah Club also conducted LitTales – a one-of-a-kind Children’s Lit Fest in partnership with Prakriya International school; the second edition of the Kongu Tamil Sangamam in 2024; and events like Spotlite – a fireside chat format program, and exclusive interviews – Filter Coffee Sessions that have made a mark in the literary space.

This persistent growth and evolution have paved the way for an even more exciting and interesting third edition of the Western Ghats Lit Fest 2024.

This year, the festival will host over 27 speakers from across Bharat and abroad, featuring prominent authors, thinkers, and cultural figures. The event will include panel discussions, book launches, key note addresses, and cultural performances, covering a wide spectrum of topics. This year’s special edition will include dedicated sessions on Defence, Indian Knowledge Systems, Yoga and Sanskrit.

The Western Ghats Lit Fest 2024 is set to be a landmark event, featuring a truly global perspective with speakers flying-in from abroad.  One can also look forward to the launch of over 10 new books, providing a platform for both established and emerging authors. Over 10 media partners, including Dina Malar, The Organiser, and Swarajya, will ensure extensive coverage of this exciting literary event.

Team Verandah Chairman, Professor P Kanagasabapathi; Director, Shefali Vaidya, Chief Mentor, Sundar Ramachandran; Mentor and Advisor, Ramachandra Prasad; Founder, Jagannathan, Director, N Saravana Kumar, and many more well-wishers have meticulously planned the event to ensure a captivating and intellectually stimulating experience.

The Western Ghats Lit Fest 2024 is poised to be a landmark event, fostering dialogue, and promoting Bharatiya cultural ethos.
