Mysuru: In the growing incidents of sexual abuse crimes by Christian clergy comes another shocker this time from Mangaluru, where the Mysuru police have arrested three pastors under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) over accusations of raping a 16-year old teenage girl.

The mother of the minor rape victim had approached the Karnataka High Court accusing that three pastors – Sebastian, Joshua Amman and Bennet Amman – had raped her daughter.

The High court directed the police to registered an FIR against the pastors.

According to the complainant, the pastors had approached her and promised to provide her daughter with employment in Mangaluru. They had also promised the mother Rs 1 lakh as assistance towards building a house. The girl was taken to Mangaluru by the priests in November.

“Subsequently, when the mother visited the girl she saw that her daughter was used as a domestic help and she found out that she was also sexually assaulted,” revealed the Mysuru police commissioner KT Balakrishna

Balakrishna further added that a police team arrested the priests but the girl could not be found. “While the victim was not there, we have apprehended the priests,” he said.
