TMC pays homage to 13 brave martyrs on Shahid Dibas

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress on Friday paid homage to 13 brave martyrs who lost their lives while protesting to uphold democratic rights.

Taking to Twitter, the party said, “Three decades ago, in 1993, 13 fearless martyrs sacrificed their lives while fighting to uphold the ethos of DEMOCRACY.”

“Today, we honour their supreme sacrifice and valour. Their struggles, ideals, and courage shall serve as an inspiration for generations to come,” the TMC added.

The party took a pledge to keep protecting people’s rights and raise its voice against oppressive forces.

“The legacy of the bravehearts shall live on forever. Their indomitable spirit, courage, and struggles continue to inspire us, ‘ the party stated.

Trinamool Congress National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee also paid tribute to their valiant sacrifice.

“Today, on #ShahidDibas, we pay tribute to their valiant sacrifice,” Banerjee tweeted.

Shahid Dibas, a day of resilience, evokes countless emotions in our hearts,” he said, adding, “Today, Bengal pays homage to the 13 gallant martyrs who sacrificed their lives while fighting tyrannical forces and upholding democratic ethos.”

“Inspired, I shall keep working towards a just society,” Banerjee maintained.
