Tremors of magnitude 4.6 were felt in Delhi-NCR and the surrounding regions after a magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit Nepal, at a depth of 5KM, according to the National Centre for Seismology. The epicentre of the earthquake was located at 29.39 degrees north on the latitude and 81.23 degrees east on the longitude in Nepal, the National Centre for Seismology said.
The tremors were felt at around 2.50 PM and there are no immediate reports of any damage or casualties. Videos of people rushing out of buildings in the wake of the tremors in the national capital are being shared on social media.
Apart from Delhi-NCR, the effect of the earthquake originating in Nepal at around 2.25 PM was felt in parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and other regions of northern India.
