Various measures have been taken on Samriddhi Expressway: Chief Engineer

Mumbai: Chief Engineer of State Road Development Corporation B G Salunke said that , various measures have been taken for passengers on the Hindu Heart Emperor Balasaheb Thackeray Samriddhi Expressway.

In his official press statement issued last night he stated that, 21 equipped rapid response vehicles, 15 ambulances are deployed at the interchange to assist accident victims. The ambulance can be contacted on 108.

Petrol-diesel pumps have been provided at seven places from Nagpur towards Shirdi and six places from Shirdi towards Nagpur. Restrooms, catering services, and minor repairs of vehicles have been provided at this place.

Toilet facilities are also available at the toll stations. Highway Security Police are deployed for security and 121 security guards of State Security Corporation are deployed to assist the Highway Security Police.

In case of vehicle breakdown or accident, a 24-hour helpline number is available and it has been displayed at various places on the highway.

There are control rooms at 21 locations, through which all facility systems are closely monitored 24 hours a day.

Salunke informed that the process of starting passenger convenience facilities at 16 places on Samriddhi Highway is underway and it will be made available soon.

It may noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated Nagpur to Shirdi first phase expressway on December 11.
