Mumbai: The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been shifted from Dharamshala to Indore.

The BCCI announced a change of venue in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Monday,

with the match to now be held at Holkar Stadium in Indore from March 1.

While Dharamshala had been initially named as the hosts, issues with the relaid pitch at the

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) have forced the game to be moved.

“Owing to harsh winter conditions in the region, the outfield lacks sufficient grass density and will need some time to develop fully,” a statement from the BCCI read.

Dharamshala hosted its only Test in 2017. Incidentally, that game too was played between India

and Australia.

The final Test of the 2016/17 series between the two countries was won by India. With that victory, India took the series 2-1 and regained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India lead the present series 1-0 after an emphatic win over Australia in Nagpur. The second Test is to be played at Delhi, commencing on Friday.
