Kolkata: After a lot of deliberations, the Election Commission of India, in compliance with an order of the Supreme Court of India, will publish the final voters’ list for West Bengal on Saturday after partially completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

Details available from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, West Bengal on Friday show that an additional nine (9) lakh names are set to be excluded from the final list.

These exclusions are over and above the 58 lakhs names that were dropped from the draft electoral roll, taking the total number of deletions to around 67 lakhs at this stage.

The CEO’s office also indicated that discrepancies have been detected in the records of nearly 60 lakh voters.

These entries will be marked as “Adjudicated” in the final roll, meaning their inclusion is still under examination. The possibility of these names being added later through a supplementary list has not been ruled out.

According to the Commission, the final electoral roll is likely to be released by Saturday noon.

Voters will be able to check their names on the Election Commission’s website and mobile application.

Political parties will be provided copies of the final list through pen drives.

The final list will not be immediately available with booth-level officers.

However, printed copies will be displayed at BDO and SDO offices, district magistrates’ offices and other designated locations across the state.

The CEO’s office said printing of the final voters’ list has already begun.

Voters can verify their status by searching the electoral roll using their EPIC number or personal details.

Entries marked “Adjudicated” will indicate cases where a final decision is still pending.
