2 infiltrators killed in J&K’s Kupwara

Srinagar: Security forces foiled an infiltration bid and shot dead two militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said on Wednesday.

The bid was foiled in the Machil sector of Kupwara district.

Additional Director General of Police Vijay Kumar said a joint team of the Army, police, and BSF foiled the bid.

“In a joint operation carried out by the Army, Kupwara Police, and BSF, two terrorists have been killed in the Machhal sector. Two dead bodies of terrorists, along with arms and ammunition, have been recovered. Operation in progress,” a police tweet quoted ADGP Kashmir.

The identity and affiliation of the slain could not be established immediately.
