Kochi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Kerala for a two-day visit on Thursday.
Modi will land at the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) in a special aircraft at 4.25 pm.
After attending a public meeting near the airport, the prime minister will leave by road to visit the Sri Adi Shankara Janmabhoomi Temple in Kalady at 5.05 pm. Later, he will leave for the CIAL convention centre by road.
Modi will dedicate various projects of Kochi Metro and Indian Railways at 6 pm. He will lay the foundation stone for Kochi Metro Phase 2 and inaugurate Phase 1 A.
The proposed Kochi Metro Phase 2 corridor covering a distance of 11.2 km will cover 11 stations from JLN Stadium Metro Station to Infopark, Kakkanad.
Later, Modi will leave for INS Garuda Air Station in Kochi from CIAL by a MI-17 Helicopter.
He will leave for Taj Malabar by road and is scheduled to reach there at 7.30 pm. He will also attend a core committee meeting of the State BJP at Taj Malabar late in the day.
On Friday, Modi will commission the first indigenous aircraft carrier ‘INS Vikrant’ at Cochin Shipyard Limited here at 9.30 am. Later, he will leave for the INS Garuda Air Station.
He will arrive at the CIAL at 11.50 am to go to Mangaluru.
The project inaugurations will be attended by Kerala Governor Arif Muhammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Kochi Mayor M Anilkumar, Member of Parliament Hibi Eden, Kerala Transport minister Antony Raju, Kerala Industries minister P Rajeev and other top officials.
Traffic restrictions will be imposed in various places in the city from Thursday afternoon to Friday afternoon as part of the Prime Minister’s visit.
