Telangana Assembly passes resolution against Electricity (Amendment) Bill

Hyderabad: Moving resolution in the House on the third and final day of Monsoon Session, Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao said the Electricity (Amendment) Bill has serious ramifications for the poor and farmers in the country.

This the second resolution against the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2022. The state Assembly had adopted a resolution against it in September 2020. The Centre had introduced the same Bill with some changes for the second time.

Later, the house also passed seven government bills — The Telangana Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill 2022, The Azamabad Industrial Area (Termination and Regulation of leases) (Amendment) Bill 2022, The Telangana Municipal Laws (Amendment) Bill-2022, The Telangana Public employment (Regulation of age of superannuation) (Amendment) Bill,2022, The University of Forestry Telangana Bill 2022, The Telangana Universities Common Recruitment Board Bill 2022 and The Telangana motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2022—without any amendments.
