On Saturday, which is also his 72nd birthday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released Cheetahs brought from Namibia into Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno National Park. A special cargo flight left Namibia on Friday, carrying the 8 cheetahs to India. The flight also carried the concerned crew, doctor, wild-life expert, and Indian High Commissioner, and landed in Gwalior at 7.50 AM on Saturday.

Before releasing them into the jungle, the cheetahs were made to wear satellite radio collars to monitor them. As stated by PM Modi, this step will further strengthen the attempts at protecting wildlife in the country.

The five female and three male cheetahs have been brought to India as part of ‘Project Cheetah’, the world’s first inter-continental large wild carnivore translocation project.

In addition to this, the BJP has made preparations to celebrate the PM’s birthday. ‘Seva Pakhwada’ will be celebrated from 17th September to 2 October, blood-donation camps will be organized. The ‘Unity in Diversity’ festival will be celebrated in all districts and the message of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat’ will be spread. In Tamil Nadu, the BJP will gift gold rings to babies taking birth on the PM’s birthday in a hospital at Chennai.
