Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday registered massive gains of 1276.66 pts regaining 58K level to close at 58,065.47 on the strength of Metal, IT, FMCG and Bankex stocks amid strong Asian peers.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too surged 386.95 pts at 17,274.30.
Tumbling down over 600 pts on Monday, the Sensex opened at 57,506.65, up 718 pts. During the day, it was spurted 1311 pts at 58,099, days high, before closing at 58,065.47, up 1276.66 from its previous close.
In scrips, IndusInd Bank was a major gainer, up by 5.29 pc to Rs 1207.30 , Bajaj Finance by 4.23 pc to Rs 7475, TCS by 3.66 pc to Rs 3095, Bajaj Finserv by 3.46 pc to Rs 1703 and Tata Steel by 3.20 pc to Rs 101.45.
The Mid Cap rose by 2.42 pc and Small Cap by 1.49 pc.
In 30 scrips, 28 advanced while 2 declined.
In Asian Market, Australia went up by 3.74 pc followed by Japan by 2.96 pc and Taiwan by 2.08 pc.
