On Saturday evening, at a house situated in Jodhpur’s Kirtinagar, 11 out of the 23 cylinders kept there exploded one after the other and with this, panic was created in the area. The 3 children who lost their lives had retuned home from school and were changing clothes when the cylinders exploded. 6 people were burnt 80 to 90% and are in a critical condition.

Because of the explosions, many neighbours were burnt as well and their homes were damaged too. Currently, 16 people are being treated at the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in the city. It is being said that in Kirtinagar, Bhomaram Lohar was engaged in the supply of gas cylinders from his home only, and the tragedy has affected the people living in the house situated opposite of Lohar house, along with people who were standing in front of the house. The deceased are Bhomaram’s daughters, Komal, who was 13-years-old, Nitali, 12, son Vicky, who was 15, and Bhomaram’s brother-in-law, who was 45-years-old.

Investigations have revealed that Bhomaram was involved in refilling gas cylinders at home illegally, and the gas was leaking, and as soon as the lights were switched on, a loud explosion took place. After this, 11 cylinders exploded one after the other. At that time, 18 people were present at Bhomaram’s house, and Bhomaram was away.
