Following the ‘dinner-therapy’ is becoming an everyday trend in the USA and other countries, and it is being called the secret formula for reducing familial stress and tension. In a study conducted by the researchers at the American Heart Association, it has been found out that 91% of the parents believe that eating food with family members reduces stress.

A survey was conducted on 1000 American adults under the Healthy for Good Movement by Weikfield Research, which revealed that 84% people want to have their food with their near and dear ones as much as possible, because an average adult has their food alone most of the times. 2 out of every 3 people said that they are stressed to some extent and 27% are highly stressed. Researchers believe that constant stress can lead to heart ailments and strokes. Erin D Michos, Associate Director, John Hopkins, and professor at the American Heart Association, has said that it reduces stress to have food with other people, and it leads to an increase in self-esteem.

Especially for children, this is a great way to improve social relations, and this helps understand the importance of staying connected with friends, family, co-workers and neighbours. Also, more than half the people (54%) opine that by eating food with others reminds them to take a break during work. 6 out of every 10 people also believe that when they eat food with others, they tend to eat healthy.

If you cannot physically be together with your people, then you can video call your loved ones and have your food together virtually in order to fight stress.
