53 Wagons of Goods train derailed near Gaya in Bihar

Patna: A total of 53 wagons of a Goods train loaded with coal, were derailed at Gurpa station on Koderma-Manpur section of East Central Railway, paralysing movement of trains on the root both on Up and Down lines on Wednesday.

Chief Public Relation Officer(CPRO) of East Central Railway (ECR) Virendra Kumar said that
53 wagons of a Goods train loaded with coal were derailed at Gurpa station near Gaya which paralysed movement of trains on both Up and Down lines on the route.

No casualty was reported from the spot in the incident, he added.

“A team of officials from Barwadih, Gaya, Neschubo, Gomo and Dhanbad stations have reached on spot with relief vans for monitoring rescue operation”, Kumar said adding that routes of some trains had been diverted after the accident.

Some trains were terminated midway, he further said adding that helplines were made operational at Gaya, Dhanbad, Koderma, Gomo, and Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyay stations. Helpline numbers of stations are– Pundit Deen Dayal Upadhyay station — 05412-272260 and 9794849461, Gaya–7070096337, Dhanbad–8102928627, Gomo–9471191511 and Koderma– 9334837103.
