2 held for attempt to murder in Goa

Panaji: As many as two persons have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a taxi driver and his father with a knife following an argument over parking issue at Mapusa town, a police official said on Saturday.

According to SDPO Mapusa, Jivba Dalvi, a complaint was lodged by one Brijesh Shirodkar from Candolim that when he and his father Chandrakant Shirodkar had gone to Mapusa KTC bus stand on Friday, two persons parked their scooter ahead of their car and blocked their way.

When they (the accused) were questioned, they allegedly assaulted him (Brijesh Shirodkar) and his father with knife causing multiple injuries and threatened them with dire consequences to kill, the police official said.

A team was formed during which both accused – Sameer Pednekar and Suresh Kumbhar, both resident Khorlim Bardez Goa were arrested under sections 341, 504, 307, 506(ii) IPC R/w 34 IPC.

Further investigation is in progress with, Dalvi said.
