Mandi (HP): Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Monday advocated the need for the change in government after five years in Himachal Pradesh.

She said this would be better for the people of Himachal Pradesh and she asked voters to oust the “corrupt BJP government”.

Addressing a massive rally here, she said: “The tradition that you have change the government after every five years is a good tradition. This keeps the mind of the leaders right.”

She said if the Congress won the election, “we would give one lakh jobs to the unemployed every year”.

The promise of waiving farmers’ loans in Chhattisgarh was fulfilled on the very first day of the formation of the government, she said.

Priyanka said the BJP Chief Minister is from Mandi district but he has not done anything here. “The BJP government has not done anything for five years. You want them for five more years?”

Cheating the youth in the name of employment, she said 63,000 posts were vacant in government departments in Himachal. They were not being filled.

On top of this, the government cheated the youth by introducing the Agniveer scheme of army recruitment. GST had been imposed on milk, curd, flour and mustard oil.

“Indira Gandhi had a deep connection with Himachal. Money dominates in today’s politics. Lies are told, but it was not so during Indira Gandhi’s time.”
