Massive cylinder blast in Jodhpur, 60 injured, 2 dead

In Rajasthan’s Jodhpur’s Shergarh, on Thursday at 3.15 PM, a groom’s wedding procession was all set to move, but at the very same time, gas started leaking from two of the cylinders while the food was being prepared, following which, the third cylinder, which was being used to cook the food, caught fire. In no time, the cylinder burst with a loud explosion and the fire spread. Frantic cries could then be heard. Two children lost their lives in this incident, while a total of 60 others were burnt including the groom and his parents.

All the victims were referred to Jodhpur city, and while some were discharged from the hospital, 12 of them are in a critical condition. Around 500 people had gathered to be a part of the groom, Surendra Singh’s wedding procession, and a 100 people were present at the spot where the cylinder burst. Dileep Kachhawa, Principal, Dr SN Medical College, said that out of the 51 patients admitted there, 8 people are burnt more than 90%.
