New Delhi: Delhi Police on Monday said the forensic experts have been involved to examine the scene of crime wherein a 20-year-old girl died after she was allegedly hit and dragged by a car for several kms from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawla area.

“A request has also been made to the health department of Delhi government to constitute a medical board to conduct the postmortem examination of the deceased girl,” Harendra Kumar Singh, DCP Outer Delhi said in a video message.

The FSL team will examine the scene of crime, vehicles involved and collect all the relevant physical, biological and other evidence which will ensure successful prosecution, police said.

“All the five occupants of the car have been identified and arrested. They will be produced before the court and Police remand will be demanded for further investigation to establish the sequence of events of the crime,” Singh said.

On the Kanjhawla case, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinai Kumar Saxena said it was an inhuman crime.

LG tweeted and wrote, “My head hangs in shame over the inhuman crime in Kanjhawla-Sultanpuri and I am shocked at the monstrous insensitivity of the perpetrators. Have been monitoring with @CPDelhi and the accused have been apprehended. All aspects are being thoroughly looked into.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday demanded stringent punishment should be given to the culprits in such incidents.

Kejriwal tweeted, “Some boys dragged a girl for several kms in a car, after which the girl died. This can happen to anyone’s daughter. No matter how influential, politically connected a convict is, he should be hanged.”

Meanwhile, Delhi Commission for Women Chief Swati Maliwal on Monday raised several questions to Delhi Police in the Kanjhawla case.

DCW issued summons to Delhi Police on Sunday and asked them to appear before the Commission for the purpose on January 5 and provide details, the statement stated.
