Mumbai: Longest sea route Mumbai Trans Harbour Link Project is the first sea route in the country with open road tolling system would open from November this year,said state chief minister Eknath Shinde.
Mr Shinde said that 90 percent of the work on the Mumbai Trans Harbor Link Project has been completed .
In the presence of the Chief Minister, the first longest orthotropic steel deck i.e. about 180 meters in length and weighing about 2300 MT was erected in Package 2 of the Mumbai Trans Harbor Link Project.
Mumbai City Guardian Minister Deepak Kesarkar, Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Sanjay Rathod, MP Rahul Shewale, MMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner SVR Srinivas, Additional Commissioner Govindaraj etc were present on this occasion.
The distance between Mumbai and Chirle in Raigad district will be covered in 15 to 20 minutes due to this marine highway. This is an eco-friendly marine highway and its work has been done using world class technology in construction and there will be no need to stop to pay toll on this highway.
The Chief Minister also said that it will be the first road in the country with open road tolling system, he added.
