Property of another Pak based militant attached in Kashmir

Srinagar: A Day after the house of Pakistan based Mushtaq Zaragr released in Kandahar hijacking was attached in Srinagar, the National Investigation Agency attached immovable property of another militant based in Pakistan.

Officials said the anti-terror agency NIA attached the immovable property of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Basit Reshi, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore sub district who is currently based in Pakistan.

In October, 2022 Reshi , a resident of Yemberzalwari Shiva Dangerpora Sopore, was declared ‘designated individual terrorist’ by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

The NIA team, assisted by local police, put a notice of attachment.

“ This is to inform all the members of the public that immovable property- agriculture land measuring 3.5 marlas situated at Edipora Tehsil Zaingeer, district Baramulla J&K under the ownership of Basit Ahmed Reshi, a ‘designated individual terrorist’ under the UA(P)A, stands attached by the order of Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India dated 13-2-2023,” the notice read.

According to the MHA which declared Reshi a ‘designated individual terrorist’ said that he is involved in subversive activities and coordinating target killings in Jammu and Kashmir.

The authorities have launched a major offensive against militants operating from Pakistan, On Thursday NIA attached the house of Mushtaq Zargar, one of the three militants released as part of the 1999 Kandahar hijack prisoner swap. The house of Zargar, the founder and chief commander of Al-Umar-Mujahideen, was attached in Srinagar’s Nowhatta area.
