New Delhi: Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day on Tuesday amid Opposition uproar over the Adani issue.

The Lower House was adjourned shortly after it resumed at 1400 hours.

As soon as the Presiding Officer Rama Devi resumed the proceedings of the House, members of the Opposition holding placards trooped into the well and shouted slogans demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Hindenburg Research report over Adani Group.

The Hindenburg Research report alleged the Adani Group had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud schemes over the course of decades.

The Presiding Officer got important papers laid on the Table of the House amid din, before she adjourned the Lower House till 1100 hours on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Presiding Officer Midhun Reddy adjourned the House within a minute after it assembled for the day amid pandemonium by the Opposition over the Adani issue and disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Lower House as a member.

Several MPs from the Opposition trooped into the well and raised slogans against the ruling dispensation.

The Presiding Officer disapproved their conduct and said , “This is not appropriate.”

He then adjourned the House till 1400 hours amid sloganeering by the Opposition members.
