With the latest statistics of the census in England and Wales, it has been established that in comparison to the people belonging in all the other religions living in the European countries of England and Wales, Hindus are the healthiest and the most capable. Moreover, 77.7 percent of the Sikhs living in these countries have their own homes. A new report has been issued by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), UK, which is titled, ‘Religion by housing, health, employment, and education’.
For this report, the ONS, back in March 2021, had collected information from various sub-categories of the British population through an online census. And with the analysis of the statistics of the census, it has been found out that in 2021, in comparison to the total population, the health of 87.8 percent of Hindus was either very good or good. While the population of healthy people is around 82 percent. Along with this, disabilities are also the least among the Hindus at only 8.8 percent.
Disabilities are at 10.8 percent among the Sikhs, and 11.3 percent among the Muslims, which is again quite low in comparison to the total number of 17.5 percent for England and Wales. As compared to the 33.8 percent of the total population, the highest percentage for ‘level 4 or above’ capabilities, which is 54.8 percent is among the Hindus. On the other hand, only 31.6 percent Christians stated that they have the education of equal stature, which is the least reported by any religion. The report has also stated that among the people living in the UK, the highest number of people who said that they have their own homes are from the Sikh community.
This census, which took place in England and Wales in March 2021, involved a total of more than 2 crore 4 lakh families as participants of the same. The analysis prior to this had revealed that for the first time, Christians have come down to below half the population for the first time in the UK, while a little increase has taken place in the population of the Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims.
