Hyderabad: Batting maestro Sunil Gavaskar on Wednesday said Arjun Tendulkar seems to have inherited his father Sachin Tendulkar’s temperament.

“Everybody talks about the amazing talent Sachin Tendulkar had at the start of his career. But it was his temperament that was absolutely amazing, and Arjun seems to have inherited that,” Gavaskar said speaking on Star Sports Cricket Live.

Gavaskar also lauded Arjun to be a shrewd thinker. “It’s always a good sign when a youngster is bowling the final over for the team and delivering,” he said.

Arjun bowled the final over, and restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad who needed 20 runs in the last over, and in the process picked up his maiden IPL wicket in the form of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar.

Arjun is a promising young left-arm fast bowler.

Lauding Shimron Hetmyer for his match-winning knock in Ahmedabad, Gavaskar stated that the West Indies batsman should come higher in the batting order.

“Shimron Hetmyer has been labelled as a finisher by Rajasthan Royals, but I strongly believe he should also be allowed to bat higher in the batting order. If he gets to face more balls he can end up scoring more runs and playing more match-winning knocks for his team,” he said.
