Cong reviews preparations for Chhattisgarh polls

New Delhi: The Congress on Wednesday reviewed the party’s preparedness for the upcoming Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh and exuded confidence that it will retain power in the state.

A meeting was convened by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge with the leaders of its Chhattisgarh unit, in the presence of top party leaders- Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, and state Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, at the party headquarters here, wherein they deliberated about the party’s preparations for the upcoming Assembly polls, sources said.

Meanwhile, the Congress chief in a tweet wrote, “Garbo Nava Chhattisgarh, this is not just a slogan for us, it is a goal for Chhattisgarh’s progress.”

“We will work together and keep bringing change in lives of people of Chhattisgarh,” said Kharge.

Rahul in a social media post wrote, “The Congress party has been dedicated to serving the farmers, labourers, tribals, women, youth and every citizen of Chhattisgarh. Today a meeting was held with the leaders of Chhattisgarh Congress under the leadership of party president Mallikarjun Kharge.”

“Congress will again form the government in Chhattisgarh – to make the state more advanced,” he said.

Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh is scheduled to be held later this year.
