It has been announced by the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham committee that a comprehensive prohibition on photography and videography has been imposed inside the Mandir premises, for which warning signs have been displayed prominently across the Mandir, cautioning pilgrims of legal action if photos or videos are clicked or made.

The warning signboards state, ‘Do not enter the Mandir premises with mobile phones. Any kind of videography or photography is strictly prohibited inside the Mandir, and you are under CCTV surveillance.’ Along with this, the pilgrims visiting the Mandir have also been urged to dress appropriately.

These guidelines come after inappropriate behaviour was earlier reported in the Mandir premises, be it shooting ‘proposal’ videos or wearing indecent clothes. President of the Shri Badrinath-Kedernath Dham Committee, Ajay Ajendra, emphasized the need to maintain the sanctity of the Dham, and prevent misconceptions that may arise due to the alleged indecent conduct of a few visitors.

‘Pilgrims to Kedarnath Dham have been urged to dress modestly. In the past, some pilgrims have been caught filming, and taking photos indecently inside the Mandir.’, stated Ajendra.
