Pune police arrests 2 suspected terrorists

Pune: In a major breakthrough, Pune have arrested two suspected terrorists on Wednesday who were also wanted by National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The names of the two arrested suspected terrorists identified as Imran Khan and Mohammad Yunus Saki.

The police and NIA were looking for both of them for the past several days. A reward of five lakh rupees on each was placed on both of them by NIA, said police. The search for third terrorist is on who was with them and managed to escape by taking advantage of night, police added.

According to Pune police both accused are wanted by NIA in a terror case in Madhya Pradesh. The continuous raids were being conducted since then at many places in the country to nab them, police said.

Elaborating further, Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Karnik told UNI.

That Kothrud police patrolling team led by police Constable Pradeep Chavan and Amol Nazan caught 3 suspect Bike thieves.

When they were taken for house search, they tried to escape and police team managed to nab two of them and one ran away.

In subsequent house search one live round and 4 mobiles and laptop was seized, said Karnik.

In further investigation it was revealed that the two suspects namely Imran khan and Mohammad Yunus Saki

Are wanted by NIA and have reward 5 lakhs on their arrest. The Further investigation is being done by Pune police commissioner Retesh Kumaarr, said Joint CP Karnik.

The pune Police also intimated Maharashtra ATS and NIA about the arrest of two suspected terrorists. Both will be produced in court today for further remand, said police.

Both arrested suspected terrorists may be handed over to the NIA soon for their interrogation since they were wanted by the Agency in several cases, said added.
