J&K Police attached worth lakhs property of notorious drug peddlers

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Police continuing its action against drug peddlers have attached property worth lakhs of notorious drug peddlers in Poonch district.

Police spokesman here in an official communique on Saturday said that the police have attached one storey residential house belonging to Shakar Din of Village Degwar Terwan Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch valuing Rs 45,86,015 and one JCB Excavator valuing Rs 33 lakhs and one tractor valuing Rs nine lakhs belonging to Mohd Yaseen of Degwar Terwan, Tehsil Haveli District Poonch under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.

The spokesman said that the residential house and vehicles were identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation and enquiry conducted by Poonch Police.

The property was prima facie accrued from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic Substances by the owners.

Notably, last month one double storied residential House valuing in lakhs, motor vehicles jointly belonging to notorious drug peddlers namely Mehmood Hussain, Zaffar Iqbal and Javid Iqbal, residents of Deri Dabsi, Kotian, Mendhar have also been attached under NDPS Act.

“This operation reaffirms the commitment of J&K Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Poonch Police with regard to the attachment of Moveable and Immoveable Property, which have been raised from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddlers in the District Poonch,” the spokesman added.
