Massive infra development post 2019 brings sports revolution in J&K: LG Sinha

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said massive infrastructure development post 2019 has brought sports revolution in the Union Territory.

Sinha speaking after laying the foundation stone of Synthetic Football Turf at Jagti Camp, Nagrota here in the city outskirts, said, “The State-of-the-Art sports facility is to be developed as per FIFA Standards. It demonstrates our unwavering commitment and dedication to promote sports in the Union Territory.”

“The massive infrastructure development post 2019 has brought sports revolution in J&K,” he said adding, “we have completed 702 sports projects. Multipurpose indoor sports halls have been constructed in almost every district. Playfields have been developed in every panchayat.”

Sinha said international level sports facilities are being developed in Jammu and Srinagar, adding, “Centres of Excellence have been established in Canoeing, Rowing and Fencing in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions. Floodlighting and synthetic turfing are being installed in several stadia.”

“Achievements of Kashmiri Pandit community fill my heart with pride. I dedicate this vital sports project at Jagti to Community’s Youth and to their contribution in nation-building,” said the Lieutenant Governor and urged them to avail limitless opportunities in diverse sectors and fulfill the goal of ‘Viksit Bharat’.
