Srinagar: Security forces have arrested three terrorist associates and recovered arms and incriminating materials from their possession in Sopore town of Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district, police said on Tuesday.
Police and the Army’s 22RR and 179Bn of CRPF set up a joint checkpoint at Fruit Mandi crossing. They apprehended three suspicious persons who were trying to flee the area.
They have been identified as Faisal Ahmad Kachroo, a resident of Baba Yousuf Sopore, Aquib Mehraj Kana of Sangrama Sopore, and Adil Akber Gojree of Kushal Matoo Sopore.
“During their search, a pistol, mobile phones, and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession”, police said and added, “The trio failed to justify the contents of their phones, which contained incriminating evidence”.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and an investigation has been initiated, police added.
