Hyderabad: Ugadi, the Telugu New Year Day, was celebrated with traditional fervour and joy across Telangana on Tuesday.

People thronged temples to offer special prayers on Ugadi day, while several temples organized recitations of “panchangam” (almanac) to mark the festival.

Tastefully decorating Hindu households with flowers, mango, and neem leaves, alongside the preparation of special Ugadi delicacies including the sweet-bitter Ugadi Pachadi which symbolizes the happy-sad phases of life, was the highlight of the festival.
