SW Monsoon advances into some more parts of Karnataka, AP, TG: Met

Hyderabad: Southwest Monsoon advanced into some more parts of the central Arabian Sea, some more parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of Telangana, and some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal on Monday, the Meteorological Centre said.

In a daily weather report here, it said that the conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Karnataka, some parts of south Maharashtra, goa, remaining parts of Rayalaseema, Telangana & Coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of south Chhattisgarh and South Odisha, some more parts of Westcentral and Northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 4-5 days.

Under its influence, heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana on June 4, 5 and 6.

Thunderstorms with rain accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (speeds ranging from 40-50 or 30-40 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in several districts of the state during the next five days.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at many places, a few places, or isolated places over Telangana during the next seven days.

Heavy rain occurred at a few places in Nalgonda, Narayanpet, and isolated places in B. Kothagudem, Jogulamba Gadwal, Kamareddy, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Medak, and Suryapet Districts of Telangana during the last 24 hours.

Rain occurred at most places in the state during the same period.

The highest maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius was recorded at Adilabad on Sunday, the report added.
